They said slow down, take smaller strides,
But now I dance where joy resides.
The mirror shows some silver threads,
I see the stories in my head.
I’ve laughed through storms, I’ve wept in peace,
And found in both a sweet release.
The years have aged me like fine wine,
Each scar and wrinkle, by design.
Now coffee tastes a bit more bold,
And sunsets feel like scenes of gold.
I linger where the flowers grow,
I listen more and let life flow.
No race to run, no need to prove,
I walk with grace in every move.
The world is softer in this light,
The days are full, the dreams still bright.
I’ve learned that youth was just a part,
But freedom blooms in a seasoned heart.
So here’s to laughter, love, and grace,
To slower steps and warmer space.
To grandchild giggles, quiet skies,
And waking up with clearer eyes,
For after sixty, life’s not done,
It’s just begun to feel like fun.
