Guard the Gate of Thought

O mind, O tender garden gate,

Where seeds of thought take root and wait.

Be watchful now, stand firm, stand strong,

For weeds grow wild when guards are gone.

A whisper sown can bloom to bind,

A careless lie can chain the mind.

Yet truth and grace, when tended fair,

Will flourish strong with holy care.

As rivers carve the stubborn stone,

So thoughts shape hearts when left alone.

What dwells within, what we allow,

Will crown our life or break our bough.

Take captive every wayward word,

Each fleeting dream, each rumor heard.

Align your mind with Christ above,

Think on His goodness, dwell in love.

Fix eyes on Him, the pure, the true,

Reject what robs His light in you.

Renew your mind with living streams,

Awake to hope, awake to dreams.

So guard the gate, stand watch, be wise,

You are your thoughts in soul’s disguise.

With prayer and Word, your mind defend,

For what you think shapes journey’s end.
