“It’s More Than a Feeling.”

Song: “Built on More Than Feelings” by Christian Love Songs

Good morning and welcome to “Starting Our Day Together: A Few Minutes To Get The Day Started In The Right Direction”.

Today’s message is based on the theme: “It’s More Than a Feeling.”

Too many people are waiting to feel motivated before they do what needs to be done.

They wait to feel inspired before they pray, before they forgive, before they work hard, before they stay committed, and before they obey God.

But if we only move when our feelings agree, we will live inconsistent lives.

Feelings change.

Some mornings you feel strong.

Other mornings you feel tired, discouraged, frustrated, or unmotivated.

But mature people learn that purpose must be greater than feelings.

The truth is: You cannot build a strong life on weak consistency.

The farmer still plants even when he is tired.

The soldier still trains even when he is uncomfortable.

The parent still provides even when they are exhausted.

And believers must still walk by faith even when emotions are low.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:58: “Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…”

Notice the scripture did not say “when you feel like it.”

It says be steadfast.

That means stable.

Consistent.

Faithful.

Intentional.

Some of the greatest victories in life come after moments when you wanted to quit but decided to keep going anyway.

Jesus Himself showed us this example in the Garden of Gethsemane when He said: “Not my will, but thine, be done.” — Luke 22:42

Jesus did not base obedience on comfort. He based it on purpose.

So here is the challenge for today: Do the right thing anyway.

Pray anyway.

Forgive anyway.

Show up anyway.

Keep your word anyway.

Stay disciplined anyway.

Trust God anyway.

Because real motivation is more than a feeling.

It is commitment.

It is discipline.

It is faithfulness.

And it is obedience to God.

Be encouraged today, and keep moving forward.

God bless you.
