Song: ”Don’t Quit Now“ by MinisterNeecy
“When you think you can’t go another step, another mile, another day, remember—God may only be asking you to fight one more round.”
Good morning, and welcome to Starting Our Day Together: A Few Minutes to Get Our Day Started in the Right Direction.
Have you ever reached the place where you said, “Lord, I don’t know if I can do this anymore.”
Maybe it’s your job.
Maybe it’s your marriage.
Maybe it’s your health.
Maybe it’s the weight of caring for everyone else while no one seems to notice you’re carrying a burden yourself.
You aren’t saying you want to quit life, you just don’t know if you have another round left in you.
I remember watching the Rocky movies.
What always impressed me wasn’t how hard Rocky could punch.
It was how much punishment he could take and still get back up.
There were moments when everyone watching thought the fight was over.
His body was exhausted. His face was bruised. His legs were weak.
Yet somehow he found enough strength for just one more round.
Life can feel that way.
Sometimes we’re asking God for enough strength to finish ten more rounds, while God simply says, “Just trust Me for this next one.”
The Apostle Paul understood that feeling. He wrote:
“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8–9, ESV)
Notice Paul never said he wasn’t knocked down.
He said he wasn’t destroyed.
There’s a difference.
Being tired doesn’t mean you’re defeated.
Being discouraged doesn’t mean God has abandoned you.
Being wounded doesn’t mean the fight is over.
You may not have enough strength for next week.
You may not have enough strength for next month.
But by God’s grace, you have enough strength for one more round today.
So don’t quit.
Don’t surrender your faith.
Don’t give up on the promises God has made to you.
Get up one more time.
Pray one more prayer.
Trust God one more day.
Forgive one more time.
Believe one more promise.
Because sometimes victory doesn’t belong to the strongest person.
It belongs to the one who refused to stay down.
Let’s pray.
Father, thank You for meeting us where we are today.
Some of us are tired. Some are discouraged.
Some wonder if they have anything left.
Remind us that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness.
Give us courage—not necessarily for the next ten rounds—but for the next one.
Help us trust You, stand in faith, and keep moving forward.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for joining me for Starting Our Day Together: A Few Minutes to Get Our Day Started in the Right Direction.
Remember today:
You don’t have to win the whole fight today.
With God’s help, just make it through one more round.
